Before the awards and accolades, before the jets, travel, and multiple six-figure monthly passive income streams; I was headed down a dark path, and fast.
At the age of 17, I was running with the wrong crowds of people, dealing dope, making bad decisions, fighting all the time as a hurt kid blaming the world for my problems and destined for a lifetime of being broke and broken - traveling nowhere but in and out of jail or dead.
From the time I was 6 weeks old to 18, I lived in over 30 cities and went to 19 schools before I graduated - unfortunately, most of those locations were not the best environments and did not have the greatest people around me or mentors to teach me. With both parents in and out of jail, we were constantly left wondering if there would be dinner on the table at the end of the day.
Unfortunately on my mom's side this was because my step dad had lost his job due to a back injury and the income stopped coming, but bills didn’t. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and before I knew it my mom found herself writing hot checks just trying to keep our family afloat, eventually landing her behind bars leaving us kids to once again figure it out on our own.

Bottom line is they did the best they could with the knowledge and resources they had, but my childhood didn't feel great at times. This so I walked around as a hurt kid wanting to hurt others.
From lying, manipulating my way for money, fighting all the time, partying my pain away, dealing dope to have money for myself and siblings, I was doing all the wrong things. I didn’t do drugs though, in fact I sold them like crazy never trying them once, it was strictly for the money for me. That led to me being around all the wrong people.
But it also came with great lessons and memories as well and as I reflect now, all of that adversity, the constant new environments forcing me to make friends, always having to compete in every new sport and school. Constantly having to think quick on my feet prepared me for who I am today.
The army was my 1st out. I was away for 2 years & after coming back from active duty to the national guard, with discipline & a new heart, I was ready to win in life.
When I got back, my old "so called friends" were still doing the same things: partying, dealing and fighting, they urged me to join them once again.
But I knew, I didn’t want that life anymore.
I made the decision to basically disappear from that scene.
I experimented with a few different career paths. I got my first taste of sales, and knew I had found my gift. I began selling furniture and appliances at my local Conn's and quickly became the #1 sales rep.
The issue was... I was still partying. So in February of 2012, I left a party and wound up arrested. My girlfriend at the time bailed me out early on a Sunday morning, and I quickly said “take me to church I want to give my life to Christ, and stop messing around.”
I went to church and was saved and baptized in the name of Jesus. That day, I committed to God that I would never stop chasing my dream of impacting the world and furthering the Kingdom!
Two days later, at 21 years old, everything changed.
I was approached to start a career in the financial services industry about a part time position to make $1,500 a month. I had no idea what to expect, but I showed up anyway.
When I walked in, I saw a room full of well dressed, successful men and women who appeared to me to be one thing… RICH-not just in money but also in spirit, family and the way they treated others.
I quickly became obsessed with being one of them. As any young, broke kid would, I spent every day dreaming of being rich and successful like the people I saw in the room that day.
From that point on, I was not only determined to change my own life.
I became obsessed with the
idea of turning my mess into my message.
I worked like a mad man for four years not just on the business but more importantly on MYSELF. I knew that to change my results and life I had to FIRST change my thinking and take ownership of the actions that got me here in the first place.

And sure enough I beat it. I continued to climb the ranks, and broke the all time income record since 1977.
I gave all the Glory to God, had the faith and the works behind it!

Fast forward 6 more years, which included mindset training, leadership development, tons of self reflection and studying my craft while pouring into to over 40,000 people and continually being the hardest worker in the room - it all paid off.
I was the most dominant competitor, leader and team builder in the history of the company. Breaking, owning or training the holder of every record in the state and South.
I won nearly every award there was within the company, month after month, for 10 years.
So I started taking every dollar I earned in my business and invested in various other companies. I learned so much about leveraging systems, people, and processes to create passive income. I grew passionate about doing it myself, and teaching others to do the same.
The Faith-Driven Champ Who Defied the System.
In 2022, Jake faced a pivotal moment that tested both his faith and principles. After being in the top ten of offices for over a decade, his broker dealer initially supported his efforts to build outside businesses.
These ventures grew rapidly to multi-eight-figure enterprises, which prompted his broker dealer to challenge his entrepreneurial freedom. They demanded he sell all his companies and represent only them, claiming he was expanding too aggressively.
Jake was faced with a critical decision: submit to their demands and work exclusively for them forever, or sell the firm he had built over a decade while standing firm in his faith and beliefs. Jake didn't hesitate. His guiding principle had always been clear: Listen to God and stay true to his purpose.
Rather than bending to the pressure from a seven-billion-dollar publicly traded company, he and his partners decided to fight back. They recognized they had done nothing wrong and ultimately sold his firm for a multi-seven-figure exit.
Several months later, the same firm attempted to involve FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) in an effort to suppress his entrepreneurial dreams.
After almost a year of back-and-forth, depositions, and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars defending his freedom, FINRA found nothing illegal beyond an Outside Business Activity (OBA) violation.
Those years of experience earned me the nickname of "The People’s Champ."
Over the past decade I’ve generated millions of dollars, had multiple 7-figure exits, and invested in many other companies… but more importantly, impacted hundreds of thousands of people.
There has been no lack of major challenges that I’ve faced along the road of going from Dope Dealer to Hope Dealer, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.
I have screwed up more than most, failed more than most, hurt more people and fallen short too many times in my life, but this journey is nothing short of a blessing, and I feel eternally grateful to be able to live this life!
I spent over a decade every single day to become the best version of myself and man oh man do I fall short daily on this never ending battle to becoming the best ME.
